Voujo isn’t like other mobile dating applications. Instead of seeing only self-created profiles, members have access to real personality-based input about each other in the form of ‘first impression feedback’. After interacting with someone on the app, a member is able to choose a personality characteristic that best describes his/her first impression of that person. Members who receive feedback will have it displayed on their profile to give others a glimpse of their personality. First impression feedback is also used to assist members with their search preferences. In other words, if someone wishes to meet ‘funny’ people on the app, search results will be arranged according to members who have received the most ‘funny feedback to the least.

Friend feedback is another unique Voujo feature which allows members to solicit an endorsement from a friend, in hopes of standing out among other users. This type of feedback is also displayed on a member’s profile, giving other users more information about that person and whether or not they’d be a good match.

Like other dating apps, Voujo users swipe left and right depending on whether they want to interact with someone. However, both users don’t have to ‘swipe right’ on each other for a conversation to start.
